Jhpiego is seeking a dynamic and motivated Communication and Knowledge Management Intern to support the organization’s efforts in disseminating information, enhancing knowledge sharing, and contributing to communication strategies. The intern will work closely with the Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist to gain practical experience in the field of global health communication.

This is a Lilongwe-based position

Responsibilities

Content Creation:

  • Assist in creating engaging and informative content for various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and website updates.
  • Support the development of multimedia materials such as videos, infographics, and presentations.

Social Media Management:

  • Contribute to the organization’s social media presence by creating and scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and keeping abreast of trending topics in global health.

Knowledge Management:

  • Organize and maintain knowledge repositories, ensuring that information is easily accessible to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the development and implementation of knowledge management systems and tools.

Event Coordination:

  • Assist in planning and coordinating events, workshops, and webinars related to communication and knowledge management initiatives.
  • Provide on-site support during events to ensure smooth execution.

Monitoring and reporting:

  • Monitor media coverage and trends related to global health and provide regular updates.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports on communication and knowledge management activities.

Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to gather information and ensure alignment with organizational messaging.
  • Foster positive relationships with external partners, including media outlets and other global health organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Recently graduated from a relevant Degree Program (Communications, Public health, Journalism, or a related field), with not more than 1 year’s experience in a similar position.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools.
  • Basic knowledge of global health issues is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design tools.
