Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants, as the case may be, depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service:

MINISTRY OF LANDS

Vac. 22/24

Post: Lands Officer (Grade I)

Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location: Ministry of Lands

Qualifications:

Applicants should be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Law, Land Management (estate Management), Land Administration and Bachelor of Social Science majoring in Land Economy, obtained from accredited institutions.

Duties

(a) Processing and lease application;

(b) Processing of land acquisition by Government;

(c) Processing of applications for consent to assign, mortgage charge and sub-letting of and;

(d) Cooperating with institutions on matters affecting land;

(e) Monitoring the transfers of freehold land;

(f) Advising on any point of land arising from the various statutes affecting the operation of the
Department;

(g) Revising forms used by the Department’s in land transactions;

(h) Presenting title deeds for stamping and registration and making search in the deeds and land registry;

(i) Preparing land memoranda for leases, tenancies, surrenders, conveyances, notices,
licenses and consents responsible for updating electronic land records; and

(j) Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Note: Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews
that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
