CARE is looking for suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions:
DRIVERS (2) – ZOMBA & MANGOCHI
Position description
The incumbents shall have the primary responsibility of providing transport to program staff, supporting the program in day-to-day administrative support operations. This includes primarily the general errands for delivery of mails, collection of parcels and attending to program visitors. The incumbent shall report to the Fleet Coordinator or Project Manager.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following specific duties:
- Provide transport to Program staff on all official assignments and manage all official transport
requirements for visiting country office visitors. - Carry out daily errands to deliver/collect mail, payments and other requirements as assigned.
- Carry out routine vehicle checks on a daily basis, e.g. oil, water, tyre pressure etc;
- Advise on maintenance and vehicle servicing requirements. Maintain an accurate vehicle logbook.
- Cleaning both interior and exterior of vehicle on a regular basis.
- Participate in programme and other CO activities for learning opportunities.
Minimum Required Qualifications, skills and relevant work experience
- Malawi School Certificate of Education.
- A clean and valid Driver’s license class B.
- At least 2 years’ experience driving 4×4 vehicles on gravel roads.
- Ability to write, understand and communicate in English.
- Ability to interact and work well with all levels of staff.
