INNOVATION AND GROWTH MANAGER

NICO Life seeks to recruit a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Innovation and Growth Manager. The position is tenable at the Head Office in Blantyre.Reporting to the Head of Sales, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving strategic innovation initiatives that position the company for long-term success and sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving marketplace. He/she will be responsible for the following Key Result Areas:

1. Innovation and Growth Strategy – Development and implementation of an Innovation and Growth Strategy aligned with the company’s objectives, leveraging on emerging technologies and market trends to enhance competitiveness.
2. Product Development – Providing leadership in the ideation, development, and launching of new Life Insurance products and services that meet evolving customer needs and preferences.
3. Market Research – Conducting market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities, consumer insights, and emerging trends in the Life Insurance industry.
4. Collaboration – Collaborating cross-functionally with departments such as Marketing, Sales, Underwriting, and IT to drive innovation initiatives and ensure seamless integration of new products and processes.
5. Partnership Management – Cultivating strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including but not limited to startups, technology vendors, and industry experts, to enhance innovation capabilities and access new markets.
6. Data Analytics – Utilizing data analytics and business intelligence tools to derive actionable insights, optimize business processes, and identify areas for improvement and innovation.
7. Risk Management – Assessing and mitigating risks associated with innovation initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to industry standards.
8. Change Management – Championing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization, fostering creativity, collaboration, and a willingness to embrace change.
9. Performance Monitoring – Defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of innovation projects, and tracking progress towards growth targets.
10. Thought Leadership – Staying abreast of industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies through continuous learning and participation in industry forums, conferences, and networking events.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A first university degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Commerce, or its equivalent from a reputable university.
  • Those with certification in related fields will have an added advantage.
  • At least six (6) years’ experience three (3) of which must have been in similar role.
