Local Government Service Commission invites suitably qualified Malawians to fill various vacant positions existing under Machinga District Council.

JOB TITLE: Principal Health Environmental Officer.

GRADE: G/P7/ M5
SALARY RANGE: Within (Grade G/P7/M5) salary segment
LOCATION:
Machinga District Council.
REPORTING TO: Chief Health Services Officer (Preventive and promotion)

Qualification:

Applicants must be in serving senior Health Education Officer /Grade H/(P8)/M6 with at
least four years experience at that Grade.

Duties:

i. Proposing projects and programmes related to public health in the district.
ii. Resource mobilization for environmental health activities in the district.
iii. Monitoring and evaluation of health activities in the district to assess their effectiveness and impact on public health.
iv. Supervision of Area Environmental Health Officers.
v. Communicating and interpreting environmental health policies to stakeholders within the district.
vi. Conducting training needs assessment for environmental health officers.
vii. Act as focal person for Health Management Information System (HIMS).
viii. Planning and organizing programmes for capacity building on environmental initiatives and related areas to enhance skills within the workforce.
ix. Community outreach activities to extend networks for improved health environments and disease prevention.
