​Who we are

​

We’ve been on the frontline of the world’s response to HIV and AIDS for over 25 years, working with marginalised people who are denied HIV prevention and treatment simply because of who they are and where they live.

Set up in 1993 to work with community groups in the countries most affected by the global AIDS epidemic, we’ve continually adapted our approach, looking for innovative ways to break down the barriers that marginalise people living with, or at risk of acquiring, HIV. All with one goal in mind – a future free from AIDS for everyone, everywhere.

Everything we do is rooted in our two key beliefs:

– That the lives of all human beings are of equal value.
– That everyone has the right to access the HIV information and services they need for a healthy life.

READY is a movement of youth-led and youth serving organisations working with and for adolescents and young people living with and affected by HIV. It targets adolescents and young people in their diversity, to empower them to influence the decisions that affect their sexual and reproductive health and rights.​​

​READY+ is part of a portfolio of programmes designed to build Resilient and Empowered Adolescents and Young people (READY). The first four-year phase of the programme (2016-2020) worked with and for young people living with HIV in Mozambique, eSwatini, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Its focus was on increasing access to holistic care and support: promoting not only sexual and reproductive health and rights but also mental health in order to foster resilience. A key part of the project are the CATS (Community Adolescent Treatment Supporters) who provide peer to peer information, counselling, and support.

​READY+ 2 (Phase II) is a six-year programme (2021 – 2026), which is building on previous Phase I work, and expanding the reach to Angola, Malawi and Zambia, with an increased focus on creating a strengthened youth centred implementation model, gender norms transformation, advocacy and movement building.  The programme will be delivered using a multi-layered approach to reach over 40,795 adolescents and young people living with or most affected by HIV. It will support them to become more resilient, empowered and knowledgeable and to have the bodily autonomy, freedom and agency to realise their sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Are you the Partner we’re looking for?

The programme is prioritising identifying a new consortium partner based in Malawi to operate as the Country Lead and implementing partner, anchoring the READY+ programme and its intervention in selected regions in Malawi. The Coordinating Partner will be expected to undertake a variety of responsibilities to deliver the programme and position the READY+ model for sustainability in Malawi as required by the consortium.

How to apply

A) Applicant organisations are requested to submit an expression of interest to Frontline AIDS. The expression of interest has a word limit of 2,500 words and its content is at the discretion of the applicant organisation. However, it must include an ‘envisioning statement’ that captures how the organisation would see its role as Lead Partner in Malawi and the mutual benefits this would bring to the consortium. We expect that the envisioning statement would account for between 500-1,000 words of the expression of interest. The EOI should also include a feasible selection of Implementing Partners within the country, and a proposed way of working with them to implement the work. Applications are welcome in English.

B) Frontline AIDS requires that applicant organisations submit the following supporting documentation with the expression of interest:

1. Governing document (constitution; by-laws; memorandum and articles)
2. Registration documents
3. Most recent organisational strategy document
4. Annual report
5. Accounts for the last financial year (audited or approved accounts)
6. Organisational budget for current financial year
7. Description of current programmes
8. Written references from at least two key stakeholders (government, UNAIDS, community representatives)
