COMFWB Malawi is a Federation of National Association of business women in Malawi with the objectives of promoting programs that (a) integrate women into Trade and development activities in all sectors of Entrepreneurship (b) improve the economic conditions of women and (c) increase awareness of women in development activities and policies affecting them.
COMFWB implements special programs for women small, medium, and micro enterprises (MSMEs) which creates or support them to have access to Markets, finance and technologies. With this support, SMMEs become competitive and able to effectively participate in the Regional Common Market.
Our Strategic Goals for the coming 3 years for the Chapter include:
(i) Organization growth and Development; ii) Development of Women, their products and Enterprises; iii) Create opportunities for women access to affordable finance; iv) Linkages and Networking
with organization with same objectives in Women economic empowerment (v) Advocacy; and vi) Creating opportunities to access to market for our members. Our Membership are women in business groups, women led and owned Associations and Cooperatives in various entrepreneurship sectors across Malawi.
JOB VACANCY: FINANCE AND RESOURCE MOBILISATION OFFICER
JOB TITLE: Finance and Resource Mobilization Officer
DUTY STATION:
Lilongwe, Malawi
CONTRACT DURATION: 1 Year Contract
REPORTING TO: The National Programme Director
2.1. SCOPE OF WORK
The Resource Mobilisation Officer for COMFWB will be responsible for finance and the development and implementation of the resource mobilisation and budget strategy of the organization in close liaison with the National Coordinator. He/she will oversee all the activities of resource mobilisation and events organising COMFWB National office.
2.2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining and establishing good working relationship with the international donor community and cooperating partners with a view to getting support and mobilizing resources for COMFWB Malawi Chapter
- Lead andoversee all resource mobilization activities for the regions and the country to meet the expected target
- Explore opportunities for partnerships (and mobilizing and leveraging resources) from emerging donors- private sectors and non-governmental organizations
- Develop objectives for fundraising, methods, tactics, and focus on bilateral, private sector, public funding, foundations
- Lead in preparing funding requests in response to calls for proposals emanating from donors and Trust Funds
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
2.3.PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Experience and expertise in developing and maintaining good relationships with institutional donors or corporations.
- A self-starter, with Excellent communication and organizational skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with teams, flexible dynamic
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to work within strict deadlines
- Committed to excellence and meets the expected high quality standards
- Independent, innovative and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
2.4. EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Social Sciences Degree in Business Accounting/ Studies not restricted to marketing, business Administration, management, Economics, and/or any other relevant discipline.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience in non-government projects financial management, mobilizing resources proposal writing.
- Proven track record of generating significant funding.
- Experience and knowledge with special accounting systems an added advantage
