Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants, as the case may be, depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service:

MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE

Post: Agriculture Communication Officer (Grade I)

Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location: Ministry of Agriculture

Qualifications:

Applicants should be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Media for Development Studies, Education (Majoring in Languages), Mass Communication and Journalism and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Development Communication, obtained from accredited institutions.

Duties

(a) Managing and coordinating all activities for Communication Unit at ADD Level;

(b) Preparing work plans and budgeting for the unit;

(c) Network with other media organizations

(d) Liaising with subject matter specialists, initiating production of different publication;

(e) Liaising with ACB on mass production of publications;

(f) Formulating commercial farming plans;

(g) Controlling farm approved budget expenditure;

(h) Advising management on farm matters;

(i) Monitoring development programmes of Farm Management Staff; and

(j) Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Note: Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews
that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
