Local Government Service Commission invites suitably qualified Malawians to fill various vacant positions existing under Machinga District Council.

JOB TITLE: Animal Health and Livestock Development Officer.

GRADE: I/ M7)
SALARY RANGE: Within (Grade I/M7) salary segment.
LOCATION: Machinga District Council
Reporting to: The Chief Agriculture Officer

Qualifications:

Applicants must be in possession of Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science obtained from recognized institution or should be serving Senior Assistant Livestock Development Officer (Grade J) with Minimum of Four year at Grade J.

DUTIES:

i. To plan and Budget for all Animal Health and Livestock Development activities in the District.
ii. Submit reports to the Chief Animal Health and Development Officer on all livestock activities in the District.
iii. To manage manpower, finance, stores, transport and buildings in order to achieve DALHLD objectives at District Agriculture Office level.
iv. To Coordinate with Assistant Veterinary Officer on activities at District the District.
v. Interpretation of various Animal Acts including:
(a) Disease Control Act
(b) Protection of Animal Act
(c) Milk and Milk Production Act
vi. To Implement both animal health and animal husbandry programmes at District level.
vii. Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
