Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants, as the case may be, depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service:

Post: Budget Officer (Grade I)

Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location: Finance and Economic Affairs

Qualifications:

Applicants should be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Social Science (Economics), Accountancy and Finance, obtained from accredited institutions.

Duties

(a) Examining the Estimates submitted by Ministries/Departments;

(b) Assisting in the preparation of Annual Estimates on both Development and Revenue
Accounts;

(c) Maintaining Schedule of Established Offices being on Established Warrant;

(d) Preparing Establishment Treasury Warrants and authorities;

(e) Following up on Public Accounts Committee queries/observations and Ministries/Departments;

(f) Representing Treasury at meetings where Revenue issues are discussed;

(g) Answering queries on Estimates of expenditure on Revenue Accounts;

(h) Verifying job inspection report recommendation with respect to Establishment compliment amendments; and

(i) Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Note: Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews
that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
