Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants, as the case may be, depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service:

Post: Bursar (Grade K)

Salary: Within the Grade K salary scale segment
Location: Ministry of Labour

Qualifications:

Applicants should be in possession of a Diploma in Human Resource Management obtained from recognized institution.

Duties

(a) Implementing financial policies and systems that track and record college expenditures and revenues;

(b) Maintaining and processing College’s financial records;

(c) Communicating with students, faculty and administrators regarding the status of Students Account and College Account;

(d) Purchasing and storing accountable documents;

(e) Preparing estimates on both personal emoluments and Operations and Recurrent Transaction (ORT);

(f) Controlling and allocating college vehicles;

(g) Opening incoming mail;

(h) Maintaining paper money register;

(i) Reporting vacancies to headquarters;

(j) Recruiting industrial class employees;

(k) Interpreting MPSR, PSCR, MGTSR and financial regulations;

(l) Supervising all support staff;

(m) Processing booking of college facilities;

(n) Maintaining asset inventory; and

(o) Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Note: Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews
that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
