The International Education Division (IED) of RTI’s International Development Group supports education development around the world by strengthening education policy, management, and practice in order to achieve measurable improvement in teaching and learning. Program Description
IED is preparing for the anticipated USAID/Malawi Secondary Success Activity. The Secondary Success Activity will build on existing structures to increase the availability, access, and quality of secondary education, including remedial skills, life skills, health and leadership, mentorship, and financial inclusion.
Position Description
IED is currently seeking Malawian professionals with senior and mid-level expertise in the following areas:
· Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) and/or Girls’ Education
· Social Behavior Change Communication
· Teacher Professional Development for Secondary Education
· Community Mobilization with special focus on education, GESI, youth empowerment, and/or sexual and reproductive health
· Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning, and Adapting (MERLA) for Basic Education
Responsibilities
The positions will be based in Lilongwe, Malawi.
Positions are contingent upon USAID award and funding.
Qualifications
For Senior Positions:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of experience, Master’s degree and 10 years of experience, PhD and 6 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in international development programs in developing country contexts.
- Full professional proficiency in English required; and proficiency in other languages preferred.
For Mid-level Positions:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area or other similar discipline with 10 years of relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree with 8 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in international development programs in developing country contexts.
- Full professional proficiency in English required; and proficiency in other languages preferred.
