Government Health Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians for
the following vacancies existing under the establishment of Ministry of Health:
Post: Chief Health Promotion Officer (Under Community and Promotive Health Department)
Grade: Grade F/P5
Salary: Within Grade F/P5 Government salary scale segment
Reference: P5/30B
Responsible to: Deputy Director
Location: Community and Promotive Health Department
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Principal Health Education Officers (Grade G/P7) with four (4) years’ experience in that post. Must be in possession of Bachelor of Science degree in health field or Post Graduate Diploma in health field from recognized institutions. Those with a Master’s degree in health field will have an added Advantage.
Duties
- Responsible for the administration and management of assigned section at Health Education;
- Proper planning implementation, monitoring and evaluation of subsection activities;
- Development of research proposals in Social and Behavior Change and the execution of the research including dissemination and publication of research results;
- Development of manpower skills in health education through trainings and courses in health education;
- Preparation of reports and other documentation for submission to authorities;
- Will act as a spokesperson or public relations officer for the Ministry of Health if so assigned;
- Will coordinate with relevant stakeholders in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
- Conduct supportive supervision; and
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
