CCAP Nkhoma Synod Health Department invites applications from suitably qualified and well-experienced applicants for the positions of Senior Laboratory Technologist (Grade H) and Chief Radiographer (Grade I) tenable at Nkhoma CCAP Hospital.
The Senior Laboratory Technologist position is offered on contract basis, a three-year (36 months) employment contract subject to renewal based on overall efficiency, conduct, and diligence with which the employee is discharging his/her duties as well as overall performance.
The Chief Radiographer position is offered on permanent basis.
B) CHIEF RADIOGRAPHER – GRADE I
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning, implementing, and reviewing operations of the radiography department.

Performing general and special radiography examinations including Ultrasonography.

Monitoring all work performed in the Radiology department to determine that reliable data is being generated and documented.

Providing on-the-job training to the students.

Liaising with other heads of sections on radiology-related matters.
-
Providing leadership and management of the medical radiology department.
-
Being involved in selecting and appointment of staff for the department.

Evaluating and monitoring quality of radiographs (x-rays, USS etc.).

Ensuring proper inventory management of supplies, and Radiology areas remain stocked with needed supplies (involved in budgeting and ordering).

Responding to customer inquiries about radiography examination results and adhering to customer service standards of Hospital and Department.

Participating in in-service education programs and attending morning handovers.

Participating in the preparation of all inspections by accrediting agencies.

Maintaining confidentiality of patients, families, and staff.

Preparing and consolidating all data from all the Radiology sections and submitting to the Director of Clinical Services within the deadline on a monthly basis.

Providing educational programs for the medical and Radiology staff and participating in other educational programs of the institution like training/orientation of new employees, residents, and students.

Preparing staff roster for the department and being on radiology call.

Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

B. Education Requirements

Applicants should have a minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in Radiology.
-
Applicants must have vast experience in ultrasonography.
-
Applicants with additional ultrasonography training certified have an advantage.

Applicants must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
-
Applicants should have at least seven years’ demonstrated work experience in a Hospital Radiology environment.
Note: All applicants should be conversant with the teachings and traditions of CCAP Nkhoma Synod.
