Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and talented Communications and Programmes Intern to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both communications and programs implementation, while making a difference in the lives of vulnerable people. The Communications and Programmes Intern will work closely with our team to support fundraising efforts, content creation, event coordination, and program activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing Officer to create content for Tingathe’s website, social media channels, newsletters, and fundraising materials. This may involve writing articles, and success stories.

Support the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns and events. This may include researching potential donors.

Support the delivery of Tingathe’s Basic Computer Literacy Course (BCL) by facilitating sessions.

Support the design and layout of promotional materials. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Drawl or Canva is preferred.

Capture photos and videos during Tingathe events, workshops, and field visits. Assist in editing and organizing visual content for use in promotional materials and presentations.

Collaborate with the programmes team to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Tingathe’s various initiatives, including alumni site visits and other economic empowerment projects. This may involve conducting research and assisting with data collection.

Backup program-related data into systems and assist in maintaining organized records.

Contribute to team meetings, and other organizational initiatives as required. Take on additional tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors from time to time.
Qualifications:

Diploma in Journalism, Communications, ICT, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and creativity.

Proficiency in photography and videography techniques, as well as editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Canva, CorelDraw).

Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).

Passion for community development, education, social impact, and a commitment to Tingathe’s mission and values.

Must be based in Lilongwe (preferably close to Mtandire Community) or willing to relocate for the duration of the internship.
