Overview

COMFWB Malawi is a Federation of National Association of business women in Malawi with the objectives of promoting programs that (a) integrate women into Trade and development activities in all sectors of Entrepreneurship (b) improve the economic conditions of women and (c) increase awareness of women in development activities and policies affecting them.

COMFWB implements special programs for women small, medium, and micro enterprises (MSMEs) which creates or support them to have access to Markets, finance and technologies. With this support, SMMEs become competitive and able to effectively participate in the Regional Common Market.

Our Strategic Goals for the coming 3 years for the Chapter include:

(i) Organization growth and Development; ii) Development of Women, their products and Enterprises; iii) Create opportunities for women access to affordable finance; iv) Linkages and Networking
with organization with same objectives in Women economic empowerment (v) Advocacy; and vi) Creating opportunities to access to market for our members. Our Membership are women in business groups, women led and owned Associations and Cooperatives in various entrepreneurship sectors across Malawi.

VACANCY: DIGITAL COMMUNICATION INTERN

JOB TITLE: Digital Marketing and Communications Intern

DUTY STATION: Lilongwe, Malawi

CONTRACT DURATION: 1 Year Contract

REPORTING TO: The National Programme Director

3.1 SCOPE OF WORK

The Digital and Communication Officer for COMFWB Malawi Chapter will be responsible for the implementation of the communication strategy of the organization in close liaison officer with the Program Director. He/she will also from time to time advise and take orders from the National Coordinator and the Chairperson on publicity and visibility matters, corporate branding, and corporate communications in general.

3.2 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a communications strategy for COMFWB Malawi Chapter
  • Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Generate and manage content for updating COMFWBs online platforms (website and social media platforms)
  • Manage the COMFWB Malawi Social Media Pages, develop & profile women entrepreneur business.
  • Enhance security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Operate audio/visual equipment on any promotional activities 2

3.3 PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Creative and great interpersonal skills, good public relations/ corporate communications, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks concurrently, excellent communication and organization skills, full computer literacy and experience in working
    with PC based equipment, design brochures, magazines, event announcement posters and letters

3.4. EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Information, Communication and Technology, Public Relations, business or any related communications & Technology fields.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Communications or any disciplines is an added advantage.
  • At least two years (2) in related experience working with ICT, promotions, marketing, website management, social media platforms, video editing and/or photography and public relations fields
  • Experience working with the private sector and women entrepreneurs will be an added advantage.
