Job Title: Driver
The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services to DSIK staff and visitors ensuring the highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, xcellent knowledge of protocol and security issues. In providing safe and reliable driving services, the Driver also demonstrates a client-oriented approach, courtesy, confidentiality, tact, and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
You are responsible for:
Ensuring provision of reliable and safe driving service by:
- Driving office vehicle for the transport of DSIK staff, consultants, experts, and visitors.
- Ensuring proper day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle through arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes and water levels, car washing, etc. so that the vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition at all times.
- Ensuring safety and custody of the vehicle, including tools.
- Maintaining records for vehicles, logs official trips, records daily mileage, and keeps records on
fuel consumption. - Ensuring availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance,
vehicle registration, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and
necessary spare parts in the vehicle. - Performing any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
- Completed Secondary Level education.
- Valid driver’s license class C
- Possess valid professional Driving license category P or PG and Defensive Driving Certificate
from Road Safety Services - 7+ years work experience as a driver with proven track record working in an international
organization. - Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, and local
roads and conditions. - Fluency in English and Chichewa.
