About the call

Tsinde Eco Empower is inviting applications from qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Driver – Garbage Collection Truck. As part of our growing waste-collection enterprise, this role is crucial in supporting our mission to build a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Malawi. The selected candidate will play an integral part in ensuring efficient waste collection, safe transportation, and adherence to environmentally responsible practices that enable our circular-economy initiatives. We are seeking a committed individual who is passionate about community service, sustainability, and contributing to a cleaner urban environment. The ideal candidate is a safety-conscious professional with strong driving competence, basic mechanical knowledge, and previous experience in refuse truck handling. The Heavy-Duty Truck Driver will be responsible for operating a 15-tonne waste collection truck and supporting daily waste collection operations

Duration – 1-year contract (possible renewal)

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a 15-tonne waste collection truck in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
• Perform basic mechanical checks and minor troubleshooting where needed.
• Oversee loading and unloading activities to ensure safe handling of recyclable and general waste.
• Adhere to all road traffic regulations and company safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily mileage, fuel, and activity logs.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the vehicle at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements

• • Valid driving license with a Heavy-Duty/Trucks Category (proof required).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional driving experience, preferably with heavy-duty vehicles.

• Prior experience with a refuse/waste collection truck is a strong advantage.

• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify or troubleshoot common faults.
• Strong understanding of road safety, vehicle handling, and load management.
• Physically fit, disciplined, and able to work flexible hours.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
