Old Mutual Investment Group (OMIG) intends to recruit self-motivated, energetic, results-minded, and competent people to fill the vacant positions as follows:
Facilities Officer
Location: Lilongwe
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Facilities Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Development of Terms of Reference (TOR), Scope of Work (SOW), and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for all the facilities procurement and contract activities.
- Management of all fit-outs, refurbishments and alteration works on owned and third party property.
- Review of all payment requests for completed works and recommendations for payments.
- Life cycle management for HVAC, Fire alarms, Diesel generators, lifts, and electrical equipment through programmed preventive maintenance (PPM).
- Administration of service level agreements for all contracted services of the Facilities
- Management function i.e. Hard and soft services.
- Monitoring and evaluation of all contracts for building repairs, M&E, HVAC, Security, Cleaning, Grounds Maintenance, Power Generation Equipment, and Vertical transportation machines.
- Costing advice to the Internal Procurement Committee on procurement of works and services
- Execution of Property maintenance plans for owned and third party property.
- Preparation of insurance schedules and administration of insurance claims for owned and third party property.
- Input into the supplier prequalification process.
- Input into the review and implementation of the business continuity plan (BCP).
- Managing Occupational Health and Safety of all buildings, ensuring that facilities meet health and safety requirements; focusing on waste disposal and recycling, OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety) Regulations & HAZMAT (Hazardous Material) compliance.
- Management of customer complaints by responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying/Facilities Management.
- Must have a minimum practical experience of 3 years.
- Knowledge and understanding of building construction and remedying of defects.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
- Knowledge of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).
- Experience of working with AutoCAD/Microsoft Visio.
- Experience in preparation of Bill of Quantities and estimates for Building Maintenance Projects.
