 About the Organization

GoodVisionGlasses is a brand name of a German Non-Profit organization, registered in Malawi as OneDollarGlasses Ltd. and is CONGOMA certified. Our goal is to ensure primary eye-care for all Malawians in need including free eye-screening, high quality glasses and referral to an eye clinic or ophthalmologist if an eye test confirms a suspected eye condition.

To accomplish its mission, Good Vision Glasses is inviting applications to fill the position of a GoodVision Technician (GVT) 

Position Description:

GoodVision Technician (GVT) will play a central role in organizing, coordinating, and supporting vision care outreaches and awareness campaigns. Working closely with the Coordinators and Opticians team, the GVT will be responsible for mobilizing communities, ensuring smooth operations during outreach events, and assisting with data, logistics, and follow-up activities. The role requires both strong organizational skills and a passion for serving underprivileged communities.

Position responsibilities may include:

  • Organize and coordinate outreach activities in collaboration with health facilities, schools, churches, and community leaders.
  • Assist with outreach preparation and planning, including logistics, scheduling, and community mobilization.
  • Provide on-site support at outreach locations to ensure smooth operations and client flow.
  • Support outreach data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.
  • Assist with follow-up activities after outreach events, including communication with beneficiaries and partners.
  • Support stock management and control of outreach materials, glasses, and supplies.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required to support outreach programs.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational standards, safety protocols, and quality of service during outreach activities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community leaders and partners to strengthen outreach impact.

Qualification & Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Community Development, Public/Community Health, or any related field.
  • Must have a valid motorcycle license and be confident riding long distances, including in rural and remote areas.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in community mobilization or outreach work, preferably within the health or NGO sector.
  • Motivation and commitment to serve underprivileged communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with health facilities, churches, schools, and community leaders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan and coordinate multiple outreach activities.
  • Basic knowledge or interest in health and/or vision care.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work in rural and hard-to-reach areas.
