Good Neighbors International-Malawi (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development organization in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) with its headquarters in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Good Neighbors implements various community development projects within the following sectors; Health, Education, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture and Social Welfare (advocacy for children’s rights other livelihood projects and emergency response.

In order to efficiently and effectively execute its duties, GNI is inviting applications from suitably qualified, passionate, dynamic, pro-active and experienced candidates to fill the following existing vacant position detailed as follow; –

Health and WASH Job Summary

The Health and WASH Programs Coordinator leads, supervise, and coordinate the implementation of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) and Health programs for Good Neighbors International Malawi. The role involves program planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements. The Coordinator will work closely with government authorities, community stakeholders, and partner organizations to enhance program impact and sustainability.


Key Responsibilities

1. Program Leadership & Implementation

  • Plan, implement, and report on all project activities in the WASH and Health sectors.

  • Ensure effective planning and execution of Annual Action Plans (POA) and project proposals, including budget management.

2. Health & WASH Program Management

  • Oversee the Supplementary Feeding Program for malnourished children and pregnant/lactating women.

  • Implement community hygiene promotion and sanitation marketing programs.

  • Strengthen community health and WASH systems for sustainable stakeholder engagement.

  • Support village clinics in delivering Integrated Community Case Management (ICCM) and Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, and Nutrition (MNCHN) programs.

  • Collaborate with district Health and WASH thematic networks (Government/NGOs) to enhance program effectiveness.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Work closely with M&E staff to track program efficiency, effectiveness, and impact.

  • Conduct field visits to monitor project progress and engage with beneficiaries and stakeholders.

  • Prepare and submit regular activity reports to the OD Manager and Directors.

  • Conduct research and evaluations to ensure continuous program improvement.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy

  • Foster partnerships with local government officials, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

  • Mobilize community members and Community Development Committees (CDCs) for self-reliance in development projects.

  • Organize stakeholder meetings to enhance collaboration and program sustainability.

  • Advocate for child rights and community development through diverse programs.

5. Proposal Development & Technical Support

  • Developing new project proposals and securing funding.

  • Provide technical support to field coordinators and facilitators for effective project implementation.

  • Identify critical sectoral gaps and resource needs to improve health and WASH interventions.

6. Capacity Building & Training

  • Design and deliver training sessions for staff, community health workers, and volunteers to improve knowledge and skills in health and WASH practices.

  • Mentor and coach field staff to strengthen technical and programmatic capacity.

7. Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all program activities adhere to Good Neighbors International policies, donor guidelines, and government regulations.

  • Establish and implement quality assurance standards for health and WASH interventions.

8. Resource Mobilization & Budget Oversight

  • Monitor budget utilization to ensure accountability and efficiency in program spending.

  • Contribute to resource mobilization efforts by identifying funding opportunities and supporting grant applications.

9. Emergency Response & Preparedness

  • Lead WASH and health interventions during emergencies such as disease outbreaks, floods, or droughts.

  • Develop contingency plans to ensure program continuity in crisis situations.

10. Knowledge Management & Learning

  • Document best practices, success stories, and lessons learned for internal learning and external visibility.

  • Share program experiences with donors, stakeholders, and partners to promote knowledge exchange and policy influence.
