Job Title : Human Resources Officer
Position reports to : Head of Finance and Administration
Direct Reports : HR Assistant, Logistics Assistant.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, with supervisory responsibilities in a busy office.
  • Must have a comprehensive working knowledge of employment legislation and HR practices.
  • He /she should have excellent communication skills and display the ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.

Job purpose summary:

To guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, including people, policies and procedures in order to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the HR function in supporting the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage benefits and welfare need of all employees starting from the point of recruitment to exiting the company.
  • To ensure that the HR records system is functional and up to date by ensuring that personal files are maintained and kept safely and that the company’s quality management system is maintained and updated at all times
  • Managing the pension scheme by processing withdrawals from the company pension administrator.
  • Manage the workers compensation function to ensure that all employees injured on duty are fairly compensated. Liaising with insurers on legal matters arising out of compensation claims. Handling legal issues emanating from Industrial Relations (IR) and workers compensation claims.
  • Providing interpretation and technical advice to the line managers and employees on labour issues, attending to legal correspondence with lawyers, Ministry of Labour and other labour related organisations.
  • Ensure that the highest standards of accuracy are always maintained in all records and documentation
  • Compile, monitor and control HR Administration budget
