MINISTRY OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY

Post: Industry Development Officer (Grade I)
Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location: Ministry of Trade and Industry
Qualifications:
Applicants should be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following field: Economics, Mathematics and Business Administration/Management/Studies, obtained from accredited institutions.
Duties
(a) Identifying specific projects utilizing utilizing natural resources in accordance with established industrial development plans and the Growth Strategy.
(b) Identifying and preparing industrial projects and linkages promotion in the districts
(c) Reviewing and developing industrial project proposals, and compile project portfolios for
industry;
(d) Identifying requirements for better utilization of existing capacities through expansion and
diversification of product lines
(e) Coordinating programmes and projects for the overall improvement of rural industries;
(f) Assessing the requirements for improving institutional performance, including the needs
for technical advisory services
Note: Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews
that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
