Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) Plc invites suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of Information & Billing Services (IBS) Projects Specialist. The position is tenable in Blantyre.

Information and Billing Services (IBS) Projects Specialist

Reporting to Chief Information Officer, the Information and Billing Service (IBS) Specialist will be responsible for managing all projects under Information and Billing Services in line with best practices and project management principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive business plans for IT and mobile money projects, aligning them with company goals and objectives.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities, risks, and trends in the IT and mobile money landscape.
  • Lead project initiation activities, including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure a clear understanding of project goals.
  • Develop detailed project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and commitment to project goals.
  • Oversee the execution of IT and mobile money projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.
  • Coordinate activities among team members and external partners to achieve project milestones.
  • Implement robust monitoring mechanisms to track project progress, identify issues, and mitigate risks.
  • Regularly update stakeholders on project status and performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Establish and enforce project controls, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Implement change management processes to address any deviations from the project plan.
  • Facilitate the successful closure of projects, including finalizing documentation, conducting post-implementation reviews, and capturing lessons learned.
  • Ensure a smooth transition of project deliverables to the relevant operational teams.

Qualification, experience and desired skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management.
  • Experience in the ICT industry will have an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of business planning project management methodologies, mobile money technologies, GSM technologies, ICT infrastructure and software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
