IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN INTERNS (4 POSITIONS)

Synthesis Agriculture is a fast-growing agribusiness company providing innovative solar-powered irrigation solutions to farmers and agricultural enterprises across Malawi. We are seeking passionate and dynamic individuals to join our team as Irrigation Technician Interns.

Positions Available: 4 (Two based in Lilongwe Office, Two based in Blantyre Office)
Reporting Date: Tuesday, 9th September 2025

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in site surveys and data collection for irrigation projects.

• Support installation, assembly, and maintenance of solar-powered irrigation systems.

• Participate in troubleshooting and basic repair of pumps and irrigation equipment.

• Work with senior staff in training farmers on system operation and water-use efficiency.

• Collect field performance data and contribute to project monitoring and reporting.

• Document field activities through reports, photos, and records.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• A Diploma in Irrigation Engineering from a recognized university.

• Strong interest in practical fieldwork and agricultural technologies.

• Ability to work in teams and communicate effectively with farmers and colleagues.

• Willingness to be based in either Lilongwe or Blantyre with frequent field travel.
