This is a positive news platform cultivating stories showcasing initiatives and interventions of government agencies, individuals and organizations as improve living conditions of the masses. The platform understands that positive news stories, which highlight human progress amid different challenges, have the capacity to enhance resilience, inspire hope and lead to genuine transformation.
An internship opportunity has arisen for Reporters, to join this online news platform. This is open to those who have the passion to use journalism to inspire hope, enhance positive mindset and advance human progress.
Responsibilities
1. Collecting, verifying and analyzing thoroughly newsworthy information
2. Assembling findings into a stable story
3. Writing and delivering news stories with the reader’s perspective in mind
4. Researching, investigating, and reporting news events for a media organization
5. Abide by Journalism’s ethics and codes
6. Maintain notes and audio recordings
7. Cooperate with other reporters, Chief Editor, etc.
8. Stay up to date with the latest current events in the ‘beat’
Requirements and Skills
- Ability to gather, write and edit news
- Excellent communication, lobbying and active listening skills
- Integrity and morality
- Diploma in Journalism, Media Studies or Mass Communication
- Hand-on experience as a reporter
