VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the post of a Junior Chef at Crossroads Hotel in Blantyre. The position is extremely challenging and offer excellent career development opportunities for successful candidate.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the highest quality of food production and presentation is maintained at all times.
  • Process food orders as quickly as possible ensuring the highest standards and efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure that operating equipment is used properly and kept clean at all times.
  • Ensure food handling procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Communicate to service staff any menu items which are not available.
  • Ensure that faults and defects of all equipment are reported to maintenance and actioned without delay.
  • Pay attention to procedures and recipes
  • Ensure that operating equipment is used properly and kept clean at all times.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Certificate in Food Production or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar position
  • 5 years’ experience plus MSCE
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Multi-tasking – oriented with high learning capacity
