Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the post of Laboratory Technician tenable at Asamala Health Services (Area 18 Medi-Clinic) in Lilongwe.

REPORTING TO: Medical Director

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide high levels of customer delight in clinic operations as a multi-skilled person while conducting transactions with efficiency and accuracy and demonstrating the company’s core values. To help make the company’s clinic a place where clients feel taken care of.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.    Keep records of all samples.

2.    Collect blood and other biological samples from patients.

3.    Prepare biological samples for testing.

4.    Conduct routine laboratory tests and sample analysis.

5.    Ensure that records are maintained

6.    Analyze specimens sent to the laboratory using appropriate techniques

7.    Enter data in laboratory logbooks

8.    Undertake all work following the relevant safety rules and regulations.

9.    Ensure that the laboratory is well stocked and that the equipment is in good working order.

10.  Ensure that quality control procedures are adhered to.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must have a Diploma in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences and must be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
