China Railway 20 Bureau Group Corporation Mw Ltd, a leading construction company engaged in the upgrading of road infrastructure in Malawi, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals to fill the position of Materials Engineer on the ongoing Road Network Upgrading Project in Mzimba District (Embangweni & Eswazini).

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all materials testing and quality control operations on site.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
• Supervise laboratory and field testing of construction materials (soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, etc.).
• Maintain accurate records of test results and prepare technical reports for submission.
• Advise site management on materials suitability and quality-related issues.
• Liaise with the Resident Engineer, Site Agents, and Supervisors on materials-related matters.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in road construction projects, with strong background in materials testing and quality control.
• Registered with a recognized engineering professional body (ERB or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of international and local road construction standards and specifications.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage laboratory teams effectively.

Duty Station:

• 1 Materials Engineer will be based at Embangweni Site
• 1 Materials Engineer will be based at Eswazini Site
