Position Title: Monitoring & Evaluation Intern (2)

Duty Station: Point of Progress Head Office – Lilongwe

Reporting to: Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning Manager

About Point of Progress

Point of Progress is a local NGO committed to empowering women, children, and the youth to act around issues that affect their lives and play an active role in the development process. The organization also gives a forum for its target groups from different backgrounds to share ideas, exchange experiences, and learn from each other in the quest for a better life.

The organization seeks to recruit two highly motivated Monitoring and Evaluation Interns based at the Lilongwe Head Office.

Key Duties and Responsibilities (Not All Inclusive)

  • Assist in data entry, including developing the M&E framework, and data collection tools both paper-based and online and data- based.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to project officers on MEAL-related issues.
  • Assist and coordinate the review of project log frames Providing technical advice for the revision of performance indicators
  • Help in compiling consolidated quarterly/annual plans and reports for the projects.
  • Support MEAL Manager in conducting routine project data quality audits (DQAs)
  • Support in the coordination of quarterly MEAL review meetings.
  • Assist in the documentation of program successes, lessons, and best practices based on demonstrated evidence from monitoring, evaluation, and research.
  • Help in the coordination of monitoring visits.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Point of Progress is looking for someone with the following:

Experience and Skills:

  • Demonstrable skills in digital data collection applications like KOBO and Survey CTO.
  • Demonstrable skills in statistical analysis using STATA, EXCEL, Power BI, and SPSS
  • A minimum of a diploma in M&E, social sciences, statistics or related technical field
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and qualitative research skills associated with knowledge of rural community development issues related to women, children, and youth.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Chichewa/English
