MANEPO has the following vacancies for talented and committed individuals:

Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Officer

Duration: 12 Months
Location: Lilongwe Office
Reports to: MERL Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a robust results-based Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system, including appropriate tools and methodologies, ensuring full integration with donor and organizational reporting requirements.

  • In collaboration with the Project Manager, develop comprehensive M&E plans and ensure alignment with project needs and donor frameworks.

  • Review and refine the logical framework, indicator matrices, and Performance Management Plans (PMPs); develop data collection schedules to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites to oversee and support data collection processes, ensuring adherence to M&E Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and data quality standards.

  • Lead the implementation of routine Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) and ensure timely execution of corrective action plans.

  • Document, package, and disseminate best practices, success stories, and lessons learned to enhance organizational learning and inform program improvement.

  • Promote a strong learning culture within the M&E unit and across project teams, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Information Technology, Social Sciences, or any related field.

  • At least 3 years of proven experience in monitoring and evaluation for donor-funded projects.

  • Strong proficiency in statistical software packages; advanced data analysis skills are essential.

  • Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Proactive, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
