1.0 Research Assistants (Impact Evaluation – HIV, GBV & Maternal Health)

Number of Positions: 2
Location: Zomba, Blantyre, Lilongwe (field-based)
Duration: 2 months
Reporting to: Evaluation Lead / Field operations Lead

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead community engagement with district stakeholders, health facilities, and community structures during FGDs and KIIs.
  • Collect both quantitative (DHIS2/facility registers) and qualitative (FGDs/KIIs) data in line with approved tools.
  • Ensure ethical standards are upheld, including obtaining informed consent and safeguarding participants.
  • Complete the Latent Data Variable form each day after data collection.
  • Transmit daily field updates and flag challenges to the Evaluation Team Lead.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data collected.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of Diploma in Public Health, Social Sciences, Nursing, Demography, Development Studies, or related field (Degree is an added advantage).
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in HIV, GBV, maternal/neonatal health, or impact evaluations.
  • Strong facilitation skills with community groups (especially AGYW, ABYM, women).
  • Familiarity with DHIS2 and data collection platforms (Kobo, ODK) preferred.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English and Chichewa).

Benefits:

  • MWK 60,000/day (fieldwork days, approx. 2 months).

  • Refund of transport costs for individuals living outside the operational district who attend orientation.

2.0 Accountant

Location: Blantyre/Lilongwe (with travel as required)
Duration: 2 months (with possibility of extension)
Reporting to: Team Lead / Operations Lead

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project finances in line with MRTC Consultancy’s financial policies and donor compliance.
  • Ensure MRA registration, withholding tax deductions, VAT and other statutory obligations are up-to-date.
  • Process and track field allowances, consultant payments, and training costs.
  • Book accommodations, manage travel advances, and reconcile expenses.
  • Maintain accurate and transparent financial records for audit.
  • Support procurement of project resources and services in a timely manner.
  • Generate periodic financial reports for management and donor submission.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (Degree is an advantage).
  • At least 2 years of accounting/finance experience (NGO/consultancy background preferred).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of donor financial reporting standards (USAID experience preferred).

  • MWK 40,000/day (Network days only, for 2 months).
  • MWK 100,000 settlement allowance

3.0 Media Photoshoot Consultant

Location: Zomba, Blantyre, or Lilongwe
Duration: On-demand, during evaluation activities
Reporting to: Evaluation Team Lead / Communications Officer

Scope of Work:

  • Conduct professional field photography during FGDs, KIIs, trainings, and community engagement activities.
  • Ensure all photos meet ethical standards (e.g., informed consent for identifiable subjects).
  • Deliver digital images in usable formats for donor reports, websites, and publications.

Requirements:

  • Portfolio showcasing prior photography work (development/humanitarian context preferred) – Include a Link or proof in the CV
  • Proven track record in professional media/documentation.
  • Based in Zomba, Blantyre, or Lilongwe for easy deployment.
  • Provide Quotation for the work with a charge per day or Image cost per day.

  • To be paid per day of service.

4.0 Website Development Consultants (2 Positions)

Position A: General Consultancy Website Developer

Position B: E-Learning Platform Developer

Reporting to: Co-founder / Head of Marketing

Scope of Work (Both Positions):

  • Design, develop, and launch user-friendly, mobile-responsive websites for MRTC.
  • Ensure SEO optimization, content management system integration (WordPress/LMS), and data security.
  • For E-learning platform developer: integrate e-learning features such as user registration, course management, assessments, and certification.
  • For General Consultancy Website DeveloperCreate a consultancy website as well Kobo server.
  • Provide at least two (2) samples/proofs of previous work.
  • Train MRTC staff in website administration and content updates.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for 3 months post-launch.

Deliverables:

  • Fully functional website(s) within 6–8 weeks.
  • Admin guide/manual and training session for staff.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Degree in ICT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • At least 3 years’ proven experience in website development (preferably for NGOs/consultancies).
  • Demonstrated portfolio (with at least 2 similar projects).
  • Knowledge of LMS systems (Moodle, Canvas, LearnDash) for e-learning consultant.

5.0 Legal Certification Consultant

Location: Flexible (Lilongwe/Zomba/ Blantyre-based preferred)
Duration: Short-term consultancy
Reporting to: Team Lead / Operations Manager

Scope of Work:

  • Review all organizational documents, contracts, and policies for legal compliance in Malawi.
  • Facilitate certification of consultancy registration, tax, and legal frameworks.
  • Draft, review, and validate agreements (MOUs, sub-contracts, staff contracts).
  • Offer technical guidance on legal risks and liability management.
  • Represent MRTC in relevant legal matters (as required).

Deliverables:

  • Certified organizational legal documentation.
  • Legal compliance audit report with recommendations.
  • Contract templates for consultancy engagements.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Law (LLB), Accounting, Audit or related.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in corporate/NGO legal advisory.
  • Strong knowledge of Malawi’s company, labour, and tax laws.
  • Experience with donor-funded organizations an added advantage.
