1. National Sales Head(1 Positionin Blantyre/Lilongwe)
Department: Sales & Marketing
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Execute Sales Strategies: Formulate national sales plans, including market penetration strategies, pricing models, and promotional campaigns to achieve revenue targets and expand market share in Malawi’s diverse regions.
- Lead and Manage Sales Team: Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise a team of regional sales managers, representatives, and support staff; set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and foster a high-performance culture.
- Achieve Sales Targets: Monitor and ensure the attainment of annual, quarterly, and monthly sales quotas; analyze sales data to identify trends, forecast demand, and adjust tactics accordingly.
- Build and Maintain Client Relationships: Cultivate strong partnerships with key clients, distributors, retailers, and stakeholders; negotiate contracts, handle major accounts, and resolve escalated customer issues to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Market Analysis and Intelligence: Conduct research on market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior in Malawi; use insights to recommend product improvements, new opportunities, or adjustments to sales approaches.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the sales department budget, including expenses for travel, marketing materials, and incentives; optimize resource allocation for maximum ROI.
- Reporting and Compliance: Generate regular reports on sales performance, pipeline status, and KPIs for senior management; ensure all sales activities comply with local regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, production, finance, and logistics teams to align sales efforts with supply chain capabilities and overall business goals.
- Innovation and Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for sales process enhancements, such as adopting digital tools for CRM or e-commerce integration, to improve efficiency in Malawi’s evolving business landscape.
- Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate sales-related risks, including economic fluctuations, supply disruptions, or competitive threats specific to the Malawian market.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- MBA / Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (minimum of diploma level required).
- 10 to 15 years of proven experience in FMCG sales, preferably in confectionery, snack, or beverage industries.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within assigned territory.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
2. Regional Sales Manager (1 position- Lilongwe Region)
Department: Sales & Marketing
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Regional Sales Plans: Create and execute sales strategies specific to Lilongwe, targeting key sectors (e.g., retail, wholesale, or institutional clients) to meet revenue and growth objectives.
- Lead and Supervise Sales Team: Manage, train, and motivate a team of 10 sales representatives; set individual and team targets, monitor performance, and provide coaching to enhance productivity and skills.
- Achieve Sales Targets: Ensure the team meets or exceeds monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas for the Lilongwe region; track KPIs and adjust tactics to address market challenges or opportunities.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and local businesses in Lilongwe; negotiate deals, manage contracts, and address customer concerns promptly.
- Market Intelligence and Analysis: Monitor local market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences in Lilongwe; provide insights to the National Sales Head to refine product offerings or strategies.
- Budget and Resource Management: Oversee the regional sales budget, including expenses for promotions, travel, and incentives for the team; ensure efficient use of resources to maximize profitability.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on sales performance, pipeline status, and market feedback to senior management; ensure accurate data tracking using CRM tools or other systems.
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Work with marketing, logistics, and production teams to ensure product availability, effective promotions, and alignment with company goals in the Lilongwe market.
- Compliance and Ethical Standards: Ensure all sales activities adhere to company policies, local regulations, and ethical practices; promote a culture of integrity within the team, and ensure adherence to the company’s credit policies.
- Team Development and Motivation: Conduct regular team meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews; implement incentive programs to maintain high morale and drive results among the 15 sales representatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (minimum of diploma level required).
- 5 to 10 years of proven experience in FMCG sales, preferably in confectionery, snack, or beverage industries.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within assigned territory.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
3. Sales Representative (50 Positions across Malawi)
Department: Sales & Marketing
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive sales growth within assigned territories to meet or exceed monthly and annual targets.
- Promote UIL’s full product range to retailers, wholesalers, and institutional clients.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure long-term business partnerships.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer feedback, and provide timely reports to management.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of sales reports and market intelligence.
- Collect payments and ensure adherence to the company’s credit policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (minimum of diploma level required).
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience in FMCG sales, preferably in confectionery, snack, or beverage industries.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within assigned territory.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
