ODeL TUTORS

The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for Tutor positions tenable at its Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) Satellite Centers in Lilongwe, Blantyre, and Mzuzu
All the Successful applicants will be required to provide tutorials to ODeL students in the programmes listed below, covering courses within their areas of specialization. Applicants should clearly indicate their preferred programme(s) and preferred Centre in their applications.

Duties and Responsibilities
ODeL Tutors will support the teaching and learning process by facilitating academic engagement
with students through various instructional methods. Their main responsibilities shall include, but
are not limited to
• Developing and reviewing instructional and learning materials in collaboration with Programme
Coordinators.
• Delivering tutorials, seminars, and discussion sessions using appropriate mode of delivery.
• Providing academic guidance and mentorship to students to enhance learning outcomes.
• Assisting in assessing students’ coursework, assignments, and continuous assessments.
• Assisting in the design and moderation of assessment tools, including tests and examination papers.
• Invigilating examinations and ensuring integrity in all assessment processes.
• Maintaining records of student performance and participation for reporting purposes.

Terms of Engagement
Successful candidates will be engaged on a part-time basis for an initial period of one (1) year, renewable
based on satisfactory performance. Remuneration will be in accordance with LUANAR Staff Regulations
and Conditions of Service (2023) applicable to part-time employees.
