Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants, as the case may be, depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service:

Post: Photographer (Grade I)

Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location: Ministry of Agriculture

Qualifications:

Applicants should be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Media for Development Studies, Education (Majoring in Languages), Mass Communication and Journalism and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Development Communication, obtained from accredited  institutions.

Duties

(a) Taking photographs for Agricultural publications;

(b) Proof reading slide series scripts and commentaries;

(c) Mounting photograph displays during important national events;

(d) Shooting slides;

(e) Participating in planning, editorial board, staff and transport schedule meetings;

(f) Editing synchronized series;

(g) Attending editorial board meetings to review, listen and approve series and photographs;

(h) Conducting training for photographers;

(i) Preparing and submitting reports; and

(j) Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Note: Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews
that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
