Daeyang Luke Hospital (DLH), is a fast-growing Mission hospital under the Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM). In pursuit to achieve the goals and objectives of the hospital, DLH is seeking to engage the services of an experienced Accounts personnel with high integrity, competent, a team player and who will be willing to serve the poor with compassion, to fill the following vacant post;
POSITION: RECEIVABLE RECONCILIATION ASSISTANT
GRADE: K
REPORTING TO: HOSPITAL ACCOUNTANT
SALARY: CHAM SCALE
LOCATION: DAEYANG LUKE HOSPITAL
DURATION: TWO YEAR CONTRACT SUBJET TO RENEWAL
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather,organize and enter data related to medical schemes into designated reconciliation templates.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial records.
- Reconcile statements and accounts balances related to medical schemes to ensure all records align with the data in the system.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between general ledger accounts and external statements.
- Maintain clear and well organized documentation for reconciliation processes and results.
- Assisting in preparing reconciliation reports for review by the accounts team
- Analyze transaction data for irregularities or inconsistencies.
- Assisting in investigating root causes of discrepancies
- Create and maintain Excel spreadsheet,using formulas and functions to streamline reconciliation tasks.
- Coordinate with departments to obtain necessary information for accurate reconciliation.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies with supervisors and assist in their resolution
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Diploma in Accounting obtained from a recognized institution
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, DESIRABLE QUALITIES
- At least 2 years experience; those who have worked in a hospital will have an added advantage
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently and in a diverse team with minimum supervision.
- Good analytical, numerical and mature problems identification and solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients and medical staff.
- Compassionate and patient oriented mindset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings.
