RECRUITMENT

The Malawi Defence Force (MDF) will conduct recruitment of Officer Cadets and Regular Soldiers (Recruits) for the organisation’s Electrical and Mechanical Enginnering (EME) Battalion. Applicants must be prepared to undergo intensive military officer cadets and recruits training at Malawi Armed Force College (MAFCO) leading, upon successful completion, to their graduation as Second Lieutenants and Private Soldiers, respectively.

The following are the required qualifications:

1. Officer Cadets
a. Must be a Malawian citizen with a valid National Identity Card.
b. Must have no criminal record.
c. Must be not more than 27 years old.
d. Must be physically, mentally and medically fit.
e. Must be prepared to undergo intesive physical and medical examination.
f. Must be unmarried.
g. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following:
i. Mechanical Engineering
ii. Automobile Engineering
iii. Telecomunications Engineering
vi. Electrical and Electronics Engineering

2. Recruits

a. Must be a Malawian citizen with a valid National Identity Card.
b. Must have no criminal record.
c. Must be between 18 and 24 years of age.
d. Must be physically, mentally and medically fit.
e. Must be prepared to undergo intesive physical and medical examination.
f. Must be single.
g. Must have certificate for any of the following:
i. Motor Vehicle Technicians
ii. Diesel Fitters
iii. Auto Electricians
iv. Telecomunications Technicians
v. Electrical and Electronics Technicians

3. Deadline for receiving applications is on 3rd May, 2024. Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for interviews.
