We provide emergency assistance in disasters and work for long-term development in local communities. Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is an International Non-Governmental Organization working in over 30 countries around the world. It is a member of the worldwide ACT-Alliance, comprised of 140 churches and church-related organizations cooperating on humanitarian assistance, advocacy, and development. Norwegian Church Aid has been working in Malawi since 2002. In 2021, we joined
forces with DCA and are since operating as a Joint Country Programme (JCP) with Strategic Priorities
for the period 2021-2024 being, Gender based violence (GBV), Climate Smart Economic empowerment

The NCA/DCA Malawi Joint Country Programme was created to enhance synergy and positive
sustainable development in the lives of the poor and marginalized people in the target communities
of Malawi and to reduce costs and increase efficiency and effectiveness.

For NCA/DCA to continue developing its and partners’ programmes in Malawi, we are now seeking
experienced persons with solid knowledge and skills to fill the following vacant position in the Country office based in Lilongwe:

RESOURCE MOBILISATION AND GRANTS COORDINATOR

The successful candidate will report directly to the Country Director and will be a part of the NCA/DCA
Extended Management Team at the NCA Malawi Representation.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with SMT on strategic planning on resource mobilization and external engagement with donors
  • Develop, ensure up-to-date and revise the NCA/DCA Malawi funding strategy. Including donor
    intelligence and donor mapping per sector.
  • Participate in external networking events and donor receptions as required.
  • Identify and facilitate dialogue between the SMT members and key donors to ensure their
    knowledge of our programming in Malawi, sharing concepts and other opportunities for
    collaboration and resource mobilization.
  • Carry out in depth reviews of unsuccessful proposals to identify reasons and any lessons learned.
  • Document, share and develop plans to address identified weaknesses.
  • Lead the quality assurance and submission of new proposals to current and new donors.
  • Work with MEAL and Communication Teams on marketing materials and presentations for
    external use.
  • Coordinate the Grant Management Cycle to oversee the completeness of NCA’s documentation,
    both paper-based and electronic of grant agreements, project documents and key correspondence with donors and partners

Education Qualification, knowledge and Skills

  • A Master’s Degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Management, Social Sciences, Rural
    Development etc.)
  • Demonstrated work experience in identifying and securing new funding opportunities.
  • Knowledge of INGO operations and working experience with various donors and local/
    international partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English is required.
  • Understanding of compliance management, with proven experience in managing large portfolios, funded by international donors.
  • Proficiency in donor reporting, with strong writing, editing, and critical analysis skills.
  • Solid ability to communicate concisely, respectfully, and with impact.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and needs.
