Habitat for Humanity Malawi (HFHM), affiliated to Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit Christian Organization aiming at improving housing conditions in Malawi.  HFHM was established in Malawi in 1986 and has assisted over 75,000 families through different housing solutions.  In addition to housing, HFHM has undertaken water and sanitation projects Disaster Risk Reduction and Response in peri-urban and rural areas, Advocacy and Vocational Skills training.

Habitat for Humanity Malawi has the following vacant positions to be filled in support of the “Promoting Sustainable Construction Project” in Blantyre.

Job Title:  Sales Clerk
Project: Promoting use of sustainable construction materials in Malawi
Location Blantyre
Reports to: Business Development Manager
Job Summary The Sales clerk shall be responsible for the management of financial aspects, budgeting, and administrative tasks related to production. He will also be responsible for processing sales transactions, maintaining records, and producing financial reports including collaborating with other departments to allocate resources effectively and ensure compliance.
Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage budgets for production activities, including raw materials, labor, and maintenance costs.
  • Process financial transactions, invoices, and payments related to production operations.
  • Maintain records of financial transactions and produce regular reports for management.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks such as record-keeping, documentation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Production and Plant Manager to allocate resources effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and administrative policies and regulations.
Education Qualification
  • Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Administration or Marketing.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools.
  • Previous experience in financial management and administration.
Experience required
  • Financial management and budgeting skills.
  • Attention to detail in processing financial transactions.
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Analytical skills for producing financial reports.
  • Communication skills for coordinating with other departments.
  • Knowledge of administrative processes and procedures.
  • Compliance with financial regulations and policies.
