SALES REPRESENTATIVE FOR A POULTRY BUSINESS

Upile is a start-up business implementing social impact investment (SII) with support from local Impact Investors in Malawi. Social Impact Investment (SII) is form of investing that aims to generate positive social outcomes along with financial returns. Upile believes in empowering the future generation of Malawi to emerge from poverty through their own efforts by providing access to quality and relevant education, coupled with necessary educational resources and training to assist communities in establishing and cerebrating sustainable livelihoods. Our vision is to see thriving youth and communities, free to determine their own future. To achieve this goal, Upile is seeking a sales representative responsible for driving sales.

REPORTING TO:

The Head of Business Development

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop local chicken supply chain in order to ensure smooth operation of the business
• Make contracts with aggregators who buy from Small Holder Local Chicken Farmers(SHLCF)
• Making direct sales including taking orders from customers as needed
• Negotiate pricing with customers, and suppliers as per mandate provided by senior management
• Identify potential markets and opportunities to grow the business
• Performs administrative duties, such as keeping sales records and filling expense account reports

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Strong experience in sales in the poultry business in Malawi
• Strong network of contacts in the poultry sector in Mangochi and Machinga
• At least 2 years of sales experience
• A ‘hunter’ personality is an absolute MUST
• Be fluent in native languages Yao and Chichewa. English language a plus
• Interpersonal communication and written communication skills
• Applicant must be aged between 18-29 years old

LOCATION: Nselema Trading Centre in Machinga
