Raso
RaSo is a halfway house dedicated to addiction recovery. The overarching goal is to help residents integrate into society. To achieve this, RaSo provides a structured environment where residents receive support services, participate in work, and develop the necessary skills to transition back into the community.
As a Social Psychologist working with Raso, you will play a vital role in providing psychological support and guidance to individuals on their journey to recovery from addiction. Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of programs that foster personal growth, healing, and successful reintegration into society.
RESPONSIBILITIES
▪️ Conduct psychological assessments to understand the emotional and psychological needs of individuals in addiction recovery.
▪️ Develop and implement personalized treatment plans to address residents’ emotional and behavioral challenges.
▪️ Provide individual and group therapy sessions to support residents in their recovery process.
▪️ Facilitate psychoeducational workshops on topics such as coping skills, relapse prevention, and rebuilding healthy relationships.
▪️ Collaborate with the halfway house team to create a supportive and therapeutic environment for residents.
▪️ Monitor and evaluate residents’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
▪️ Work with residents to identify and address underlying psychological issues that may contribute to addiction.
▪️ Liaise with external support services and resources to provide comprehensive care to residents.
▪️ Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and progress.
REQUIREMENTS
▪️ Previous experience in providing counseling and support to individuals in addiction recovery.
▪️ Strong understanding of addiction dynamics and evidence-based therapeutic approaches for recovery.
▪️ Empathy, compassion, and the ability to build a strong therapeutic rapport with residents.
▪️ Knowledge of cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and other relevant therapeutic modalities.
▪️ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents and the interdisciplinary team.
▪️ Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
▪️ Sensitivity to cultural and social diversity, respecting the unique backgrounds and experiences of residents.
▪️ Proper licensing and certification as required by Medical Council of Malawi
