To strengthen its Maintenance Department, Plastimax Limited is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Turner Technician to join its team.
Job Overview
The Turner Technician will be responsible for the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of essential machine components. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth operation of production machinery by manufacturing precision parts and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up, operate, and manage conventional lathes, milling machines, and other tool room equipment to fabricate precision parts.
• Manufacture, repair, and modify components such as bolts, nuts, shafts, gears, screws, and specialized parts for injection molding and extrusion machines.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications accurately.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production machines.
• Diagnose faults, dismantle, repair, and reassemble faulty machines and mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and finished spare parts.
Qualifications and Skills
• Diploma or Certificate in General Fitting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related trade.
• Proven experience as a Turner, Fitter, or Machinist in a manufacturing environment (experience in the plastics industry is an advantage).
• Proficiency in operating lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drilling machines.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings and use precision instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
• Reliable, disciplined, and effective communicator.
