Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc, the country’s leading producer of raw, refined and specialty sugars, and a subsidiary of Illovo Sugar Africa Group (wholly owned by Associated British Foods plc), is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawian nationals to fill the following vacant position at Nchalo Estate:


CONCISE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Operations Co-ordinator, the Heavy Goods Driver will be responsible for the following:

  • Transporting tools, materials and staff to various workstations.

  • Transporting company goods (pumps, motors, transformers, etc.) to external locations for repairs and installation.

  • Taking company vehicles for servicing at designated service providers.

  • Physically checking vehicles (engine oil, water levels, tyre pressure, battery, braking systems, etc.) to ensure they are roadworthy.

  • Refuelling vehicles using allocated fuel cards and ensuring adequate fuel levels before departure.

  • Cleaning and maintaining vehicles to ensure good condition, and reporting faults for repair.

  • Adhering to Illovo’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including SHEQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).


JOB SPECIFICATION

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).

  • A valid Driving Licence – Class C1.

  • At least 2 years’ work experience in a similar role.

  • Good communication and reporting skills.
