Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants, as the case may be, depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service:

Vac. 21/24

Post: Workshop Technician (Bricklaying) (Grade K)

Salary: Within the Grade K salary scale segment

Location: Ministry of Labour

Qualifications:

Applicants should be in possession of a Malawi Advanced Craft Certificate in Bricklaying or Malawi Advanced TEVET Certificate or City and Guilds Part 2 Certificate in Bricklaying, obtained from recognized institutions plus Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or International General
Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).

Duties

(a) Teaching according to approved Bricklaying syllabus and methodology;

(b) Assessing, recording and reporting on students’ progress;

(c) Preparing schemes of work and lesson plans;

(d) Organizing teaching and learning materials for both theory and practical lessons;

(e) Enforcing students discipline;

(f) Maintaining class register and student progress records;

(g) Maintaining available tools and equipment in the section;

(h) Enforcing classroom and workshop rules and regulations; and

(i) Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Note: Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews
that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
